The art of volumizing has evolved and matured over the past decade, with new innovative ways to replace the loss of fat deposits and the bone structures which we all begin to lose starting in our late 20’s. The changes that occur are a combination of several factors: loss of bone structure and reabsorption of bone, loss of the fat pads, and loss of the elasticity of the skin.
These fillers allow our patients to have a so-called “liquid lift,” which can help put off the need for a facelift and actually rejuvenate the face in such a way that you are “still you”. The goal of using fillers is to replace the volume that has been lost into the locations that will recreate the contours which were present in the past, and to place it strategically as to create a lift which softens the nasolabial folds, the tear troughs under the eyes, prejowl area, and can even reshapen the face to create a more heart-shaped appearance.
When using fillers the goal should always be to keep the outcome looking natural and refreshed. When the right types of fillers are used in the right locations, both symmetry and re-contouring can be achieved in an artful manner. Each face should be approached as unique. Each woman or man will need fillers in their own way, and if each face is approached this way you can then achieve the best look possible.
